About Us
My name is Tyler Broome, and I am the founder of Ars Rhetorica, meaning “The Art of Rhetoric” in Latin. I have studied rhetoric – the art of persuasive writing and speech delivery – in ancient Roman politics for the last five years, receiving an MA in Classics from the University of Otago, NZ, and a PhD in Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology from the University of Birmingham, UK.
I have written and delivered speeches at international conferences, published research in academic journals and online op-eds (such as this piece for The Conversation UK), written successful grant applications for funding from various organisations, and had plenty of experience with proofreading and editing different types of documents.
I have taught elements of persuasive writing and speech delivery to groups in university courses and ran workshops on speech writing for community and charity organisations, alongside years of experience in teaching and education.
I understand that the right words have the power to move, to teach, and to please people: an idea that has come to us through thousands of years of theory with which I am familiar.
Booking a speech or writing service with Ars Rhetorica means getting a combination of ancient theory with modern psychology, narrative studies and neuroscience, so you can be confident that your argument is as persuasive as possible.
“The best speaker is one who, by speaking, teaches and delights and persuades the minds of their listeners.” – Marcus Tullius Cicero, Roman orator, 46 BC
